OZUNE / INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us.

Effective date: 29 October 2026.

Ozune is an independently operated digital news and information publication based in Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria, intended to be accessible at https://ozune.io. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, and protected when you visit our website or communicate with us.

1. Information We Collect — When you visit Ozune, our website infrastructure may process technical information, including IP addresses and approximate geographic location; browser and device information; pages requested and access timestamps; and technical and security-related information. When you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to provide.

2. How We Use Information and Lawful Bases — We process personal information to operate and secure Ozune, respond to enquiries and correction requests, investigate suspected abuse, and handle legal or copyright concerns. For routine website operation and correspondence, we rely on legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by individuals' rights. We process information where necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations. Where a future feature requires consent, we will seek it before the relevant processing.

3. Website Hosting and Third-Party Services — Ozune uses Cloudflare for website hosting and security services. Emails sent to [email protected] are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail inbox. These service providers may process information as necessary to deliver their services, including in countries outside your country of residence.

4. Cookies, Analytics and Automated Decisions — Ozune currently operates without advertising trackers, and Cloudflare Web Analytics is disabled. Cloudflare may use automated security technologies to protect the website. Ozune does not currently use visitor profiling or solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning readers. We will update this policy if these practices change.

5. Data Retention — Routine enquiries and correction requests are retained for up to six months after resolution, unless longer retention is reasonably necessary for legal obligations, ongoing disputes, or documented security needs. Infrastructure providers may maintain separate technical and security records.

6. Your Privacy Rights — Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information; object to certain processing; request portability; or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. Contact [email protected] to exercise your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at https://ndpc.gov.ng.

7. Information Security — We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

8. External Websites — Ozune articles may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. Readers should review their respective privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy — We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal obligations. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy.
